Which webpage or blog post is driving you nuts?

Laptop, wireless mouse, and glasses on a wood table (Web page and blog post editing for solo and small business owners at http://erinkurup.com/websites/)Is it the sales page for your newest offering?

The guest post that got accepted by a big-time blog?

That notoriously hard-to-write About page?

Whatever you’re facing, believe me — I know the feeling. You stare at your latest draft, sensing something is off but not knowing what. You’re frustrated and discouraged. And all you want is to be finished already.

You second-guess yourself. You backtrack. You go in circles, ask some friends for feedback, scrap everything and go back to the drawing board. You start to believe that hiring a copywriter is the only way this thing is ever going to sound right.

Fun? I think not.

You want clarity, confidence, and — above all — completion. But on your own terms, and in your own voice.

I hear you. And I can help. Oh boy, can I help.

Let’s get this thing done. As in, written, tweaked, and out the door. As in, off of your hard drive and out into the world, where it belongs.

You in?

“I came to Erin with three pages for a new offering I was about to launch. They weren’t where I wanted to be, but I wasn’t sure how to fix them. The experience of working with Erin far exceeded any expectations!

“Erin is such a talent and a joy to work with. I felt like I knew her already, and working with her was really fun and collaborative. The whole experience was perfect for me.

“I loved the structure of Erin’s process, the helpful and timely feedback. Her offering is simple, fast, and stress-free, too. But more than that, I felt that she really understood what I was trying to say and how I wanted to say it. She had a way of pulling information from me and then reconfiguring the copy so it still sounded like me. When I read her notes and even now as I read the copy, it sounds like me. I felt so understood and ‘seen.’

“Now, the pages are speaking directly to my target audience. They’re clear, inspiring and to the point. Erin is awesome. Fact!”

Here’s what’s included with every webpage or post edit:

  • Webpage or Post Profile Questionnaire: This carefully curated list of questions shows me the shape of your project intentions. That way, I can make sure the work we do is laser-focused on what you’re creating, as seen through the lens of your business and right people. Plus — if you’re like most of my clients — you’ll get a healthy dose of clarity for yourself in the process!
  • Page-specific idea-generating questions: If we’re working on a webpage – your About page, sales page, or similar — these targeted questions will help draw out key copy components we’ll be sure to work into our drafts.
  • Project Timeline: We’ll set dates and deadlines together and then keep our work on track by sticking to them. You’ll always know who’s responsible for what and by when.
  • Google Drive setup: If we’re working via shared Google Drive documents, I’ll upload the initial page or post draft you send me to Drive and share it with you when I hand over each round of edits. This document will be our own private collaborative space throughout our work together.
  • Two rounds of developmental + line + light copyedits on your full project text: I’ll go through the full text and add all my best suggestions. When I’m done, I’ll share the document with you to make the changes you see fit based on my input. That’s one round. Once you’re finished, we’ll go through the process again.
  • Support from me: We’ll talk by email as you work through my suggestions.
  • A quick clean-up round once our editing rounds are finished: I’ll make a cursory last pass through the document to spot-check any lingering questions or unresolved issues.
  • The final draft, in whatever form we’ve been working in: You’ll be able to download the finished page or post text or copy it to your own Google Drive account. It’ll be ready to be proofread, submitted, formatted, or whatever its next forward step is.
  • BONUS – Insights into how to improve your writing: When I make suggestions, I don’t just tell you what to fix. I explain my reasoning, why something doesn’t work, and how I’d suggest fixing it. That means you’ll learn a few things during our time together. My clients tell me again and again that working with me makes them better writers. If you pay attention, you’ll learn to recognize and remedy your own particular set of writing weaknesses.

Bottom line? Your editing package includes everything we need to move your project from stuck to done.

We’ll go through your web page or blog post bit by bit and make order out of chaos.

We’ll keep your goals in mind as we go to make sure what we create stays true to them.

We’ll pay attention to how you say things and what your right people most want as we groom your page or post for greatness.

When we’re done, you’ll savor the feeling of having this thing off of your plate at last.

And then you’ll finally be free to tackle your next big endeavor.

“Originally I had a 4,500 word monstrosity of an incoherent page on my website. It was messy, it wasn’t unified, and it lacked serious clarity. Fortunately, Erin came along and worked some major magic with the copy. Not only did she help me shave 1,000 words off of it, she did it in a way that added depth, focus, and relevance to the people reading it. Plus, she did it in a way that empowered me to make the ultimate decisions and gave me the confidence to display it with pride. Did I mention yet that she’s awesome at whatever she touches?”

What does it cost?

A page edit is $197. For posts, it’s $97. That includes all of the elements listed above for one blog post or web page of your choice. If you’d like to add additional elements, such as real-time calls or additional rounds of editing, just ask me about options.

Wondering why there’s no “buy now” button for you to click? I want us to make sure our timelines sync up before we bring money into the picture. When we’re ready, I’ll send over an invoice, and we’ll square up then.

How long does it take?

Because of the back-and-forth nature of these packages, a page or post edit takes a minimum of five business days to complete. That’s assuming you’re fully available during the process. Anything less and our work (and possibly our sanity) would suffer.

I’m a one-woman show, which means I may not be available to start work on your project right away. If you’re concerned about timing or availability or have a rush job, please tell me about your situation when you fill out the form below and I’ll see what we can do.

Shanna Mann (testimonial on http://erinkurup.com/websites/)

“Erin has been one of the best resources I’ve found. Even after writing for over a decade, when it came to my website and my business, I always worried whether what readers were hearing was what I intended to say. I never would have hired a copywriter, because I wanted the words to come from my heart and mind, not anyone else’s. But Erin’s editing solved all my problems!

“I first hired Erin to help me with my About Page. I had three separate pages with three separate messages, and I didn’t know how to communicate everything succinctly. Erin asked me very intelligent and insightful questions, and produced the very thing I needed in less time than I would have thought possible. I’ve worked on multiple projects with Erin since, and writing client resources has become so much less stressful since she came into my life.

“Finally, as a business coach, I’ve recommended Erin to my clients. There are many places where it’s fine to wing it, but your website copy is not one of them.
